iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later.

Open Settings in the app and choose Manage children. Each child has a first name, an age from 0 to 8, pronouns (he, she or they), and up to three favorite things. If the narrator says the name wrong, type how it sounds in the optional "Sounds like" field; that spelling is used only by the narrator on your device. You can add more than one child.

It plays tonight's story, then a lullaby, then your sleep sounds, one after another. Choose a sleep timer of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or all night, and everything fades out gently at the end. The dark night-mode screen shows a dim Nimbo; tap it to reveal the controls.

That's our parental gate: a quick "grown-ups only" multiplication question, answered in numbers. It appears before purchases, links that leave the app, "Report this story" and "Delete all data", so little hands can't wander off, buy anything or erase anything by accident.

Before the first AI story, Hushmoon asks once whether to "Allow AI stories" or "Use built-in stories only". To change your mind, open Settings in the app and flip the AI stories switch. With AI stories off, Nimbo tells built-in stories that are filled in with your child's name and favorites right on your device, and nothing about your child is sent anywhere.

Writing a new AI story needs an internet connection. If the connection fails, Nimbo tells one of 20 built-in stories that still uses your child's name, so bedtime isn't interrupted. Try again later on Wi-Fi or mobile data. On the free plan, you may also have used your free AI stories: the first 3 are free, then you get 1 new AI story every 7 days, and the app tells you the day the next one is free. A story that fails to load doesn't use up a free one.

Hushmoon uses the best Apple voice installed on your device. To add a better one, open the iOS Settings app, go to Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, choose English, and download an "Enhanced" or "Premium" voice. Then pick it in Hushmoon's Settings, where you can also adjust the speed.

Every new story lands on your Story Shelf. Saved stories are stored on your device, play offline, and stay playable on every plan, even if a subscription ends.

We're sorry. Every AI story goes through a safety filter, but AI isn't perfect. While the story is playing, tap "Report this story" in the player and answer the parental gate. It opens an email to support@hushmoon.app with the story's title filled in; tell us what was wrong (no need to include your child's name) so we can improve the filter.

Yes. Stories, lullabies and sounds keep playing in the background with the screen locked, and you'll see controls on the lock screen. If sound stops, check that the volume is up and that Hushmoon wasn't closed from the app switcher.

The free plan includes three lullabies (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Rock-a-bye Baby and Hush Little Baby) and two sleep sounds (White noise and Rain). Premium unlocks every lullaby and sound.

Yes. Turn on several sounds, like rain with brown noise, and set each one's volume separately.

Yes. Lullabies and sleep sounds are created right on your device, so they work in airplane mode too.

In Hushmoon, open Settings and tap Manage subscription. Or, on your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name (your Apple ID), then Subscriptions, choose Hushmoon and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current period ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Yes, if you allow notifications. When you start the 7-day trial, Hushmoon schedules a reminder on your device for two days before the trial ends, so you have time to decide. It's a local notification; nothing is sent to us.

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open Hushmoon, then go to Settings and tap Restore purchases (it's also on the upgrade screen).

Apple handles all payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple ID you used to buy. We never see your payment details.

Only on your device, and it's left out of iCloud backups. If you've allowed AI stories, asking for a new story sends the first name, age, pronouns, favorite things and your optional note through our server to Anthropic's Claude AI to write it, and our server keeps nothing. Read the full privacy policy.

In the app, open Settings, tap Delete all data and answer the parental gate. This erases every profile, saved story and setting from your device. Because our server doesn't store story requests, there's nothing else to delete. Deleting the app also removes everything (but doesn't cancel a subscription).

No. There are no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no accounts and no tracking in the app, and no cookies on this website. Bedtime and trial reminders are scheduled on your device.
